Getting others input on your situation. This does not mean you go around asking your firends for input, simply because they love you too much and still want to be firends with you so they won’t tell you the whole truth. However ask an advisor(supervisor, mentor, professor, life coach etc.) even if it is someone who you look upto and trust. You will find most people do not make good advisors but you will find some whom provide you with valuable information, the trick is to pick out and keep good advisors. Qualities that Yamamoto mentions to look for in an advisor are selflessness, intelligence and no personal involvment.
